Post by: kellyjay on February 12, 2012, 12:30:44 PM
NO HO-HUM ROUTE HERE!
Join up for a little adventure on the backroads to Hemet!
Some nice climbs, wine country tour, lonely narrow road on the mesa, Diamond Lake overlook and of course, some dirt riding! eheh

We'll leave at 07:30 from Albertson's in San Marcos for this nice 115 mile/185K "TR-185 Permanent".

Kelly -

This looks like a great ride. Do we need to be RUSA members to do the ride? It looks easy to join on the website... just want to know, if membership is required, how we get the membership application and $20 to the right person in time for the ride.

This might be a good lead-in to a slightly longer ride the following Sunday on Feb 26 for double century warmup, as a few nccc'rs are contemplating their first double century this year.

Thanks for the invite - Karl

Hi Karl,
No, you don't have to be RUSA members to ride the route.
Only if you want to have RUSA sanctioned credit for the route, then you need to be a member, do the waiver, and have proof of passage at the controls. Afterwards, submit all the docs to the route administrator.

I don't know if this route is suitable for your double century training or not, due to some of the terrain.
"Rincon del Diablo" route may be more suited?

see you soon,
