Title: Cruiser Long Riders scored another CENTURY!!!!
Post by: Margareth Demery on September 15, 2013, 08:54:19 PM
What an awesome ride day we had yesterday!  Started off with 12 riders to Old Town, those on their first trip to old town, congrats on the adventure.  Great lunch at Casa Guadalajara.  Darn we couldn't have any cold margaritas though. Convenient with the Coaster back.  Next time another adventure for you to ride back.  Michelle, Brice (new meet-up) & Debbie rode back and had a great metric century.  Barry, Andy, Steve and I did the full loop continuing on to Coronado with the ferry boat and the Silver Strand back to Magee park.  Another 100.22 for us and Andy made sure and did his his extra ride around the block for 101.21. Confess, we did that too. Great going!  I had a new meet-up rider today that I committed too so we rode 21.7 miles on the Jesmond Dene loop.  Half way through the ride, my rear shifter cable broke.... lucky me it didn't happen yesterday or I would be doing the single gear bike ride. Oh, Barry, I think that is what you had to do yesterday... We are going to have to get a volunteer chase vehicle with extra bicycles next time  :)

Next century ride in a couple of weeks - heading south to Imperial Beach, lunch at the famous South Beach Grill.  Starting out at the Oceanside Harbor, but it will be an early start so we have daylight to finish.

See you then and thanks for a super day,
Peg - Your Fearless Cruiser Long Rider

Thanks Andy, Was a long day with a bit of site seeing on the way back.  I got some good photo shots.  Next time we will make better time and not get stuck in the dark.... If we had left a 7 a.m. instead of 8 a.m. it would have worked out better, but we were not to sure how long we were going to ride.  Also, we will put Barry on the stop watch at lunch.  We get to chatting and next think you know 1 1/2 hours pass by.... We end up burning daylight ;) - Peg
