Title: Many thanks
Post by: Stephen Jones on September 22, 2013, 01:27:27 PM
Just wanted to extend my sincere gratitude to my fellow riders who picked me up off of the street yesterday, and stuck around to make sure that I was o k.  And especially to Larry who stayed behind, missing the rest of the ride, until my wife came to get me. Thank you so much.
I recall looking back for a split second to make sure there was no one near me in case I had to move over and when I looked back I was on top of that nice man who rides the light blue Trek. Yes it is true, after so much time together, I still don't know his name. But I will take this opportunity to extend my apologies, and to offer to pay for the damage I caused, and hope that you were not any more injured than I seem to be. Just a bit of road rash.
Thanks again, and be safe out there, Stephen

Just as an aside, I did strike the back of my helmet covered head hard enough to break the skin and cause a knot there. Helmets are a must! I can't imagine how I would be feeling or if I would be feeling had I not had one on.

Stephen,

Hope you are feeling ok this morning! You need to get back into the dirt with me where it's safe. No cars, no humans!

Do miss you out there!

Bob

Glad to hear that you're okay. I know helmets have saved my life on a couple of occasions. Hope to see you out on the road again soon!

Sorry to hear of your accident Steve.  Sending well wish and speedy recovery your way and also to the rider you crashed into.  Yes, helmets are definitely a must.  I did some cycling in Europe last month and got plenty of strange looks when I rode around wearing my helmet.  My friends even commented, "What, you are going to wear that thing"?  One day they will recall the vision and wish they wore one....

Take care,
Peg
