Title: April 26 - Palomar ride
Post by: Robert Abraham on April 25, 2014, 06:35:36 PM
Comrades,

I want to apologize for this, but I have no control over the weather. The current reports do not look too good, so there is a strong possibility that this route will be canceled. Currently, there are severe wind advisories and possible snow expected into mid morning. I will decide for sure tomorrow morning. If it rains all night and the roads are wet, I will probably cancel the Palomar route, but I will be at OCRR before 8 to let people know and to lead the regular ride, weather permitting. Mostly it depends on the wind. Even if the roads are dry, descending the mountain in heavy winds can be a hell of thing. It is possible that we can decide while on route as well. If the roads are wet and/or the wind is nasty, we can cut it short and do Cole Grade.

Rain is still persistent and this wind is nasty so I'm calling off the rides for today. I will not be there to lead. If any one shows up to ride, have fun, be safe. Both routes are easy and you really don't need route slips. Sorry guys, I'm not in the mood riding in this weather today.
