New Belgium brewing is putting on the Tour de Fat San Diego on Saturday the 27th. It is advertised as a "traveling celebration of all things bicycle, honoring mankind’s greatest invention. Born in Ft. Collins, Colorado to increase awareness and participation in cycling as a sustainable form of transportation, Tour de Fat has grown into a national rite of passage for cycling advocates and bon vivants alike."

I am planning on riding down Saturday morning, leaving North Escondido (Country Club and Center City Pwky) at 7:30 am, stopping by North County Fair at 8:00, and on to arrive at Golden Hill Park in time to register and participate in the parade at 11:00. Lunch and a beer or two should fuel a return by 4:00. I'll be riding a route like this http://ridewithgps.com/routes/6084715 (http://ridewithgps.com/routes/6084715).
I'm not planning on killing it, but would like to maintain a solid (but social) pace, and would welcome some company!
Oops... It's 9/27 for this Saturday's TDF. Although I hate to draw away from the Long ride, this should be a fun event, and Bill makes it a good bike ride, too. I wish I were in town, but I hope some others join Wild Turkey (Bill) for this one.
Karl
Thanks Karl, I stand (and ride) corrected!
