This year's Holiday Party will be held on Wed, December 10 at 6:30 p.m. A short portion of the festivities will be devoted to a short Annual Meeting (see the Bylaws post below (http://www.northcountycycleclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=1802.0)). The main event will be a fabulous dinner, gift exchange antics, and an evening with your friends without helmets and spandex. Please see this article (http://northcountycycleclub.com/web/index.php/nccc-holiday-party-wed-dec-10) for all the details, to RSVP and place your entree order. You get your dues back with the discount the club treasury provides for this evening!
Special thanks to the Holiday Party Committee of Diane Martin and Peg Demery for taking care of all the details 8)
OK. I hope everyone has been doing the math. If you're a single member at $17/yr, you get a $16 discount on a quality dinner, reducing your annual dues to $1/yr. If you're a family member at $20/yr and you bring your significant other to the party, you get a $32 discount and so NCCC pays YOU $12/yr! If you're a Senior, you are even better off.
So how does this work? Why isn't the club broke? Well, an average of about 70 members attend this annual fest, while the remaining 140 or so pays for 1/3 of the club to have a great party. So, if you are feeling like you're not getting your money's worth, simply sign up for the party and let your non-party-going buddies subsidize you. If we get all 206 current members to attend, the treasury will indeed be in dire straits. All the more reason, then, to attend and nominate a new Board who can fix the budget next year. Meanwhile, Party On!
OK - For those of you who thought you missed the deadline for signing up for the party, you can still do it. You can sign up at the discounted dinner prices through Sunday evening, Dec 7!
