Question:
Should NCCC purchase the RideWithGPS Club Account for its members?
Option 1: Yes - I can use that app
Option 2: Yes - I won't use that app, but it is a useful resource for other club members
Option 3: No - I prefer to use a Garmin for navigation
Option 4: No - I would never use that app because I don't care to have detailed route info on the ride
Option 5: No - save the money
The primary benefit to club members with the NCCC RideWithGPS Club Account are free access to Premium features of the RideWithGPS app for all your Club Routes. Many of you may not even know what the features of the RideWithGPS app are. They are discussed extensively in this post (http://www.northcountycycleclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=2109.0). If we get enough interest in this poll, NCCC will pay for a Club Account.
NOTE: To even see the voting buttons in this poll, you must be logged into the NCCC Forum with your membership username and password that you use to renew each year. Only NCCC members can vote and only one vote per member is allowed.
If anyone wants to just join the trial NCCC Club account, click here (https://ridewithgps.com/clubs/381-nccc?join_code=ZI7qa7WmfGgR0eXc). The Club Route Library contains this month's March Roadies rides, so that you can try out the Premium features of the RWGPS app on one of the rides if you like.

Poll closed. Since there were 0 NAY votes and 24 positive responses, the NCCC Board voted unanimously to purchase the Club Account. Active NCCC members can join by simply clicking here (https://ridewithgps.com/clubs/381-nccc?join_code=ZI7qa7WmfGgR0eXc) - if you have a current RWGPS account (either the free one or a paid one), use your membership info when joining. It is best if you use the same email as for your NCCC membership login so we can cross-validate membership.
The main advantage to members is the paid features of the RWGPS app for your android or apple smartphones. See this video (http://ridewithgps.com/help/club-member-benefits/) for a 3 minute overview of what you're getting. On your phone, the NCCC routes available under this account shows up under Club Routes. From any browser, you can browse and use the Club Route library at https://ridewithgps.com/clubs/381-nccc.
You also will be able to print a high quality pdf version of the cue sheet. Eventually, NCCC ride leaders would like to make this the default way for riders who want a paper route slip to get a cue sheet, which saves your ride leaders some effort and is a bit more eco-friendly.

Click on the "simply click here" link above and select "Sign In." If that somehow doesn't work, if you just go straight to https://ridewithgps.com/clubs/381-nccc and click on the button to join the club. The latter is least desirable as I need to intervene and approve you, but a few folks did it that way. FWIW, I've not used my Garmin for a couple weeks now, using the app in airplane mode (long ride today only ate 30% of battery) and the Wahoo RFLKT display on my stem. If you want to get really crazy I mounted bluetooth speakers Uclear HBC 100 (http://www.cyclegear.com/UCLEAR-HBC100-Boomless-Bluetooth-Communication-System---Single) invisibly in my helmet to hear the voice navigation without earbuds and wires, etc.
I am logged in and shown as member of this club. But I cannot define routes using the premium features. Is that how it should be or am I missing out here; how can I solve this
