As a follow-up to my notes on the Grand Alps Traverse (http://www.northcountycycleclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=2173.0) tour, Gary Bezer just informed me that he plans a TranPyrenee trip in 2018 if anyone is interested. I'm putting it on my forward-looking calendar. With 2 yr advanced notice, that gives me plenty of time to carve out some time and $ to make sure it happens. Attached is the itinerary and below is a note from Gary.
Hi all,
Some of you have expressed an interest in doing the ATG TranPyrenees trip. We have blocked out September 9-19,2018 for this trip. This is a really cool trip, and plenty challenging, but not as long and grueling as the Grand Alps Traverse.
We basically ride from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean Sea and tackle all the Classic Cols of the Pyrenees en route.
You can see the trip on our Website here

I have also attached a more detailed daily itinerary showing daily riding miles/elevation gain etc. [edit: see next post for an updated version]
So please let us know if you are interested and "block off" your Calendars for another exciting trip.
Cheers!

A note from Gary Bezer on this trip, which is 2 years from now, if you're interested and wish to plan ahead. - Karl
Hi all,
We have tremendous response for this trip. It is really a great trip.
I put people on the "interested list", but we have more "interested folks" than space. So, we will take bookings on a "first-come" basis via the normal ATG Trip Registration and Deposit Process.
If you want to ensure a spot on this trip, then please go here and register for the trip and make your $400/deposit ($200 of which is refundable before the Final Payment date (120 days prior to trip departure).

Please note we changed the dates slightly and also added an extra day, so we will now have 3 nights in Luchon (lots to see and do and ride here)..

Are you paying to secure a spot, Karl?
I just got permission from the boss (Jill) and plunked down my deposit, just a $200 risk at this point. She will probably join me on either the front or back end of the trip, but that's too far in the future to worry about now.
Looks fun. Although you could do it for a lot less and go on the record as being kind of awesome. The downside (for most folks) is you only have 100 hours to do it, and you're on your own.
