I realize that not everybody in this club shares each-others political views. This is one of the beautiful things about this club. There seems to be an unspoken rule (that I only occasionally violate) to avoid political or religious discussions on the ride. I like to honor that for the sake of club unity. But given the events of last weekend, I'm going to risk stepping in it... If you feel strongly against what I'm about to ask, I truly hope that this does not impact our rides together in the future. With that said:
Alex Pretti was a cyclist. He may have been one of those dirty mtn bikers ;) but he was one of us none the less. Many clubs across the country are organizing memorial rides for him on Saturday. Of course, we have a one-club ride also scheduled for Saturday. But I've decided that I need to spend that time riding in solidarity with those that morn his loss. I encourage anyone that wants to join me to do so. I'll post more information such as time and route here in the next few hours after I get a sense of how many riders want to join me in this.

Cody - I don't even consider this "political." This is a moral/ethical issue that all lives, everywhere, should be respected and treated with dignity. Thanks for organizing.

Bikes del Pueblo is organizing a ride from Balboa park starting at 11am. Jon Penner and I are discussing possibly riding down there for this.
