Title: Thanks for the cheers!
Post by: Heidi on July 08, 2007, 12:36:01 PM
I had a great time participating in the Carlsbad Sprint tri today but what made it even better was hearing cheers from North County friends.  Thanks for keeping me motivated!

Heidi - we were so lucky to intercept you. You looked really great, powering by about 8 riders while we watched. You looked like a real cycling pro out there. Congrats on your first tri !

Thanks Karl!  Well when I saw you guys I had to kick it up a notch as Matt told me before the event not to embarrass the club (of course he was kidding as he was my biggest cheerleader out there:)  He stole those famous words from Jamie:)

You sure did look strong!  Did you enjoy it?  What was your favorite part? Was cycling your strongest event of the three?  How did you place?  Will you do more?

(swim, bike, run, total)

it looks like the time of the transitions was mostly added to the time spent on the bike, wasn't it?
Good job in the 5k, it's actually faster than you thought! :-)

The swim went fine, better than I thought it would.  I felt a little sick the first 6 miles of the bike (probably due to salt water and a little off balance after swimming) but then felt better after I got some fluids in me during the bike.  My legs were tired by the run but I did my normal run pace.  The transitions were fun too.  They include transition time in each category so my bike ride was 50 min. but my transition must have been 4 minutes before I crossed back over the timing mat to start my run.  I am trying to figure out what my next one will be:)
