Cyclists,
Here we go again on another classic ride on Saturday, March 20th.
This will be a desert ride, so if you haven't ridden there, it's exciting!
Ride from Ocotillo, CA to Borrego Springs and back.
213K/130 miles, only 5000 ft of climbing. No big ens'!
We caravan up at Escondido Transit Station at 6:00 AM. (Park by the train station)
Ride sharing, gas saving in effect!
The ride starts in Ocotillo by the Lazy Lizard Saloon at 8:00 AM.
NO traffic lights on this route~!
We'll be riding out on the Stagecoach Century route, then pick up the Borrego Double Ordeal Route(Triple Crown Route).
We'll follow back the Borrego Springs 600 route all the way to Ocotillo.
There is NOT a lot of super climbs in this ride, the steepest being the 1.5 mile Yaqui Pass, from the Tamarisk Campground side. I think that is only 8% max. The return route is easier than the outbound!
We'll be riding at rando pace, NOT racer pace and stop mid-way at the country store before Scissor crossing.
Lunch break at Borrego Springs.
If you have any questions, email me.
The weather looks good, so far, and the desert will be in full bloom too!
The video cameras will be rolling and we'll try to do a YouTube thing again.
Bring your cameras.
see you soon,
kellyjay
