Title: Hot weather, Sat Aug 27 long ride
Post by: Nerius Landys on August 26, 2011, 08:07:11 AM
Just a thought..  It will be 100 degrees in inland valleys on Saturday, that is, in Bandy Canyon.

Perhaps consider doing an alternate route for the Saturday long ride, such as through Camp Pendleton?

+1 I'd be all for a ride through Camp Pendleton.

I'll make you guys a deal.  If you do Camp Pendleton I promise to lead the paceline at 25 miles per hour.   :D

You forgot to say for how long. I have no problem leading the paceline at 25 mph... for about 10 seconds. :-)

Damn it, that means I'll have to ride to OCRR to catch you guys!  Nerius, if you want to avoid hills, just say so!  I'll pull for 30 seconds or so, which just leaves you with a coupe of hours into the wind!  See you in the am!

Too bad the ride splintered so much.  People off the front, people off the back, Diane should have been there to keep us in line.   :P

Yes, the ride did splinter & I was one of the ones that was "run over by the bus" and left off the back.  But as far as I am concerned whatever doesn't kill you just makes you stronger and I feel proud to get to ride with some very talented cyclists.  And, Diana, we did miss you last Saturday.
