We've used this cut through several times now.  It's a way to avoid the gate on Twin Oaks Valley Road.  The natives seem friendly :-) and the dirt section is reasonably smooth.

Our new NCCC kit is just about ready! If you have never worn an NCCC kit, please attend our upcoming fit kit party to determine the best sizing for you.  Size-wise, the new kit is the same as the previous kit, so it's unnecessary to attend the party.  However, all members are welcome to ensure a correct fit.

At the end of the dirt section that I see, I see, via the Street View, a metal gate easy to walk, or just ride, around.  Knowing Frank and Sean, they've explored it already. 

There looks to be a chain-link gate at the end of the dirt section. If it's closed, it won't be possible to pass through that section. And then you'll need to go back along the .6 mile dirt section in the other direction to get back to the road.

This Saturday's RWGPS route (https://ridewithgps.com/routes/46079226), just after Gopher Canyon, seems to have a right turn, and through (a gate at?) Havens Country Club, and after the CC, ending up on dirt before connecting back onto Twin Oaks.  Is that the intent?  Or, is the intent, from Gopher Canyon, to turn right directly onto Twin Oaks and suffer the big first climb, as usual?

Adding one more caution on liability and the necessity/importance for family members to take care of their own memberships separately. Potentially, a family member who has not acknowledged the NCCC liability waiver is not insured on any ride and if crashed, is not only uninsured but the ride leader and the club may face liability. In fact if any member on the ride crashes when an uninsured member is present, that may nullify all insurance on that ride. We have only had one incident over the years where a rider's insurance company (not the rider who was embarrassed by their insurer's action) came after the club. Fortunately, we had the signed paper liability waiver copies for all involved and escaped financial consequences - phew.

wow, good find, George. this route was previously found as an active working nccc route, so i'm not sure what happened. i retraced it and it appears to be working.
