Ride Leaders Blog / Bonsall incident
Last post by billheidler - June 02, 2025, 05:53:20 AM
The Clippers ride on May 31 was marred by a disgusting incident. The ride group was leaving the parking lot of the McDonalds/7-Eleven, turning left onto Olive Hill Rd to cross 76. Someone in a pickup truck pulled up to the driveway right into our midst and yelled "Get out of my way you goddamn f*ggots".
We all ignored him. Probably the right thing to do.....but I'm not sure. Maybe the right thing to do this time but not if it happens again...?
There was a Courrer rider group at the market also, not quite ready to leave. Lots of riders stop at that market and the stores are nice to us.
I want to assert my support for Pride Month, for the LGBTQ "community", for LGBTQ riders all year round. And no one should have to hear language like that.
I want to note in a few places (including the Fallbrook weekly newspaper) that this happened. Especially in case it happens again.

Club Rides & Events / Only 24 hours left to order yo...
Last post by karlos - May 31, 2025, 08:04:33 PM
In case you're procrastinating a bit, you can order before midnight on Sunday June 1st at NCCC socks order 2025. The club isn't desperate as riders have already ordered more than necessary to break even. On the order of 60 of your NCCC mates have prepaid for their socks, so you might want to join the crowd. At only $8/pair, I don't know where else we can get quality cycling socks for that price. Go for it before the clock strikes midnight tomorrow  ;).

The Clippers have a route that goes there as a rest stop. Yes - bathrooms &'water & lots if goodies.

Bathrooms are to the left of the main store. There's water in there and also on the other side of the parking lot, across from the store, if memory serves.

There's a fudge counter inside the store, in the back. Norval or I will often get a chunk to share.

Sometimes they have an event going on, like a car show, with food stalls.

I was there last year. There is a bathroom near the store. There were food trucks with decent food.

They have a small store. Looks like it sells mostly decorations and farm goods. The image of the storefront on their website shows a bathroom entrance outside.

Thinking about a ride that incorporates BNF as a rest stop. It's been years since I stopped in there.
Do they have bathrooms and do they sell drinks/water?

Thanks, Steve
Shwalbe One TLE's are the only tubeless tires I have use for 4+ years.  I usually go with the Schwalbe Pro One series 700x32, although I currently run 700x28 on the front.  Whatever your tire size and series, check it out.
Many thanks again - Karl
