Awesome.

Stage 1 is the Pie Ride!  Count me in.

Planning on riding Stage 1 on Sunday, March 30. 9:00 start at Grape Day Park on North Broadway, or my house on N. Iris at 8:30. All are welcome!

Bill, that's Easter.  :(

The only positive I can possibly foresee if I do go with you that day, is that in the future, I will be able to ride whenever I want.

OOh, you're so right. That should read Sunday, March 31st.

That said, what better way to celebrate the miracle of ascention than by climbing Palomar?

I know I do a lot of praying on my way up - and down!

In addition to Bill's ride there is another opportunity to ride the route.

It looks like the Tour of California is offering the opportunity to ride the ESCONDIDO STAGE the day before the race Saturday May 11th with Stage 1 on Sunday May 12th. It is cool that the TOC decided to use the PIE Ride as their Stage 1. Any chance Bill will be off the front for the stage? Since the the Pre-Ride is officially sponsored by the Tour of California it should be a good event.

There is also another chance to ride the route, pre-Tour.  I haven't looked into if there any "catches" to signing up through the link below but on April 6th there is what looks like a semi-supported ride.

I did the preview ride for the Mt. Baldy stage last year. It wasn't quite as supported as one might be led to believe, but what do you want for free?

This preview probably won't be the whole course, but would be a good chance to see the roads with bunches of other cyclists, local and otherwise.

I almost feel a little bad that, if everything goes as planned, I'll be riding from San Francisco across the Golden Gate to Santa Rosa on the route of Stage 8 that day . . .
