BIG CONGRADS, to member SAM Thomas, who on July 14 completed the ride across Indiana* on his friends borrowed Specialized!
Forget the California Centuries, Sam went for the big one!

We all know Sam as the big smiley rider who blasts off on the club rides on his noisy Carbon Specialized!
He luvs those hills, I guess that's why he went all the way back to Indiana, borrowed a bike and rode in the heat and high humidity there. He started 45 minutes late and rode all day till sunset!
Sam even got a slick looking silver medal.
Way to go Sam!!

I would expect a more detailed report in next month's newsletter.

   * RAIN is an annual ride across the State of Indiana sponsored by the Bloomington Bicycle Club. Its 160-mile length runs mostly on the Historic National Route 40, an older divided four-lane road with light traffic. This is a maximum of a 14-hour ride. I think there are 2-100' climbs on the entire route!
