I am no longer able to lead the Saturday long rides.  Thank you all for your patience during my short tenure.

Jim, I'm sorry for giving you a hard time on the ride today.

Jim,

Please re-consider. I think all agree you have been a great ride leader.

I may be wrong, and I often am, but if this is related to Saturday's ride them for sure re-consider. If it is related to Saturday's ride, I think that can be fixed.

If it is a time thing then perhaps some volunteer helpers could keep you in the lead position.

It is a thankless job but please re-consider.

And by the way....you got voted into the position and seems to me you would need to get voted out. I vote you stay.

Jim, as Sean said, if the reasons are fixable I'd hope you would reconsider.  I've enjoyed you as a ride leader and the different and interesting new routes, so...please, please, please reconsider.

I'd like to also put my VOTE in that Jim stay as ride leader.

We could institute a only speak if spoken to rule.  We could have to salute you prior starting the ride.  We could rotate being responsible for ensuring you're watered and fed at the stops so those menial tasks don't interfere with you making up new routes.  We could institute a security team for you to deal with annoying followers.  We could institute a rule we all must shake you hand prior to going home and say "Thank you."  We could ban pink kits for men.

But, if it is time or assisting with the leader duties during the ride, I'm sure we could find ways to help out.

As they say it takes a village to raise a child, and I know you must need more help raising Sean.

Jim,
I definitely would like you to stay as ride leader.  You have put a lot of work into the routes, mixed them up, made them interesting, given us route slips (which I use all the time even though I did read it wrong one time), kept us together, brought up the rear, led from the front, and didn't complain about us once.  I am sure you can definitely complain about our group every Saturday!!  We don't always cooperate, do we?

Please reconsider because I think you do a great job and as Sean stated, it is a thankless job...that we shouldn't take for granted.

I couldn't agree more with everything Ursula wrote. Jim, please give it a little more time to work out, you clearly have a lot of support.

Jim,

As a newer member of the club I have to tell you one of the single main reasons I jumped in and joined right out of the chute is the saurday long rides. I havent been as regular latety as I have my time devoted to my up coming charity ride but you are the Saturday long rides, period. I have no clue what transpired along the way but please know I think you are a strong asset to this bike club My best and hope to be back in the Saturday saddle soon
