Extra Training Rides For The Week.

Here are a few rides planned as part of Sam's SoCAL Training Camp for the week.
Lou suggested I post it up in case others are interested.

If you have the ambition and extra time, it's a good way to get some local extra miles in and "buff-up a bit.
I'll be doing some video stuff on several of these rides so we won't be racing too much. hehe.
Ride the whole route or part of it.

1. Tuesday, Sept. 18
"Crusin' The OC", new approved Rando Route.
210K-131mi.
START/FINISH: 7:00 AM, Oceanside Transit Center, Bathroom area.
ROUTE: Ride north, before Newport, turn inland and ride newer bike paths the back way down to San Juan Capistrano and back to Oceanside.

2. Thursday, Sept. 20
"URSA MAJOR" approved Rando Route. Quite a good and popular route.
201K-127mi.
START/FINISH: 6:15 AM, Albertson's, W. Valley Pkwy, Escondido.
ROUTE: Ride down Del Dios, Rancho Santa Fe to the coast. Up the coast and meet up with OFR Gruppo at Magee Park-8:30 for ride north to Dana Point. East to San Juan Cap., return hook up with returning gruppo to O'side. East to Bonsall and south to Escondido.

3. Saturday, Sept. 22. ?
"BUSTED IN DELUZ", long standing Rando Route in lieu of Rando Brevet to Palomar Mtn.
157K-100mi.
START/FINISH: 7:00 AM, LaCosta Circle K. -El Camino & La Costa Ave.
ROUTE: Ride up Coast, SLR Bike Path to Bonsall, around Fallbrook to Rainbow, Temecula and up Rancho, through DeLuz Valley to Fallbrook, around and pass Bonsall and return to LaCosta via El Camino Real. A few optional roads in DeLuz.

4. Monday, Sept. 24
TOUGHRIDER 185 OR HEMET 200, newer Rando route up to Hemet.

START/FINISH: 0700, 7-Eleven, San Marcos Blvd & Mulberry Dr.
ROUTE: Old 395 up to Rainbow, back way around Temecula and up Sage Rd. to Hemet. Sidetrack the dirt. Around 10K of climbing. This is a very good route with little traffic during the week.

5. Wednesday, Sept. 26
"RAINBOW PRELUDE", Good old Rando route with only 9K of local climbing. They race this every January.
200K-126mi.
START: 0700, 7-Eleven, San Marcos Blvd & Mulberry Dr.
ROUTE: Hwy. 395, Circle R, Lilac, Couser Cyn. Rice Canyon Road to Rainbow, down and around to Fallbrook, SLR Path to the Coast, south up Torrey Pines and on to UTC. Return El Camino, Del Dios, Elfin Forest, up to Twin Oaks and drop down to the finish in San Marcos.

After this, Sam is off to Boston for a rest before the Boston and NY Centuries.
