I'd like to invite some of our hardy riders to a New Years Eve Century ride (Mon Dec 31st).
This will be mostly the group of riders known as the "Gitman/Holland Group", plus probably some other random riders.
Last year the pack of riders was quite large, and there were both fast and slower riders.  Average speed no faster than a typical NCCC long weekend ride.
Ride will start in Del Mar somewhere probably very early (7:30 typically) and go up North through Camp Pendleton and into Orange County.  Total miles 100.  Last year we stopped at a fine Mexican restaurant at mile 50.

I will post more info week before, once the details are finalized.  But mark your calender if you're interested.

Here is the official info for New Years Eve Century:

NEW YEARS EVE DAY RIDE, MONDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2012, YEAR-END CENTURY----------->ON THE ROAD AT 7:30 A.M.

On Monday, December 31, 2012, a number of riders are planning to end the year with a relatively flat century, launching from Carmel Valley Road in Del Mar at 7:30 A.M. and proceeding north up the coast through Camp Pendleton and on to San Clemente and back. We will likely stop in Oceanside and San Clemente for refueling on the way up the coast and will likely stop in Oceanside on the return trip as well. The ride will be 100 miles with approximately 2,500 vertical feet of climbing. The plan is to be back in Del Mar around 3:00 P.M. Because the ride is an out-and-back course, riders can easily shorten the ride to meet their time and distance preferences. If you plan to join us for the ride, BE SURE TO BRING YOUR DRIVERS LICENSE in order to pass through the Camp Pendleton gates.  NOTE: The ride will begin on Carmel Valley Road about 0.20 miles east of PCH. There is plenty of free onâ€"road parking on both sides of Carmel Valley Road. The pace will be moderate, and the weather is forecast to be partly cloudy with temperatures ranging from 50F to 65Fâ€"Great Riding Weather! I hope you can join us for an epic year-end century.

Best wishes,

    Larry
