All - I like to keep a running list of centuries, special rides, double centuries, etc. which would interest our members under our Upcoming Events. If you are interested in, or planning to do, a special organized ride during 2013, I would be happy to post it under Upcoming Events. All I need is a link to the corresponding website or registration page. I have a few in mind, but this should not be directed by me, but rather by the aggregate of NCCC members. So fire away...

Just add your suggestions to this thread and I'll get them out there. When other members see there is interest, it can snowball into having a large NCCC contingent at these events - your chance to show off your new jersey  8)

Karl,
Currently 3 NCCC members are signed up for this ride on March 16, sponsored by SD Randonneurs.
You don't have to be a member to sign up & ride RUSA Brevets!

Hey Karl,

I don't know if any NC3 riders are doing this ride, but I'm planning on riding the first century loop with Mike Trone on Saturday April 13th.

Thanks,

Karl,
I am doing the 63 mile route of the Alpine Challenge 2013, Sat 27th (Pine Valley).  Forget doing the 103 mile loop with a climb up Mt. Laguna....too early in the season.

Karl,
I am doing the 60 mile San Diego Gran Fondo Sun, 14th Apr, 2013.

Karl,
There is a timed climb up the East Grade of Palomar...there are age groups so you won't have to feel to intimidated.

Palomar Challenge, Sat. June 22nd, 2013
at Lake Henshaw Resort
24, 35 & 62 Mile Road rides & Hill Climb challenge (up the East Grade...)

Karl,
I think Sat, June 1st is late enough for me to do a century.  So I'll be doing the SD Century again this year...maybe I can get closer to Ramona before my friends are on their way out....

I think I'll try for the trifecta of the Mount Laguna Bicycle Classic on 4/20, the Alpine Challenge on 4/27, and the Dirty Devil on 6/1 for the "King of the Road." See the deets here http://www.epicrides.org/2013/02/presenting-southern-californias.html and here http://www.ccsd.com/events/dirty-devil/. Anyone else interested?

Oh, yes, and I'm still riding the AToC Stage #1 up Mesa Grande and Palomar East Grade on Sunday, March 31. See our route here: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1983464. Let me know if you'd like to join us!

Wayno, Richard, and Bill

Thanks for the suggestions! They are on the Upcoming Events to try to get other NCCC'rs to join you.
Bill, I had coincidentally scheduled our annual Sunrise Hwy / Pine Creek ride for April 21, which has some overlap with the Mt. Laguna event on April 20. Rather than try to reschedule, I'm leaving it as is, and NCCC folks can do our normal route without the extra reg., etc.

Keep the suggestions coming, to fill out the rest of the year. A number of people are doing double centures - I will just refer anyone interested in these longer rides to the full 2013 schedule - http://www.caltriplecrown.com/schedule.htm

I'm bumping this discussion to the top as I'd like to keep our "UPCOMING EVENTS" menu relevant to organized rides which other NCCC members want to participate in. I'd rather YOU tell me what things you want me to list there, to have extra NCCC'rs on board, rather than drive this with my own personal interests.
Thanks - Karl
