If you've never checked your membership status directly online, see the note below for how to browse "Your Payment History." During the recent flurry of renewals, I discovered a few people did not receive the automated email to renew. It looks like it only affected people who added a Donation to their renewal last year, but I encourage everyone to make sure they are up to date. If not, please just reply to me personally at rudnick.cooper@gmail.com so I can diagnose. I believe the problem is solved but I am interested in non-donors who may also not have receieved their notification. Note that you receive automatic notifications 30, 7, and 1 day before and 1 and 2 weeks after (we don't give up on you) your expiration. Your renewal date is exactly one year after you signed up. For legacy members, this is May 31 - newer members renew throughout the year (and this group is growing all the time!). Anyway, it is a good idea to check your status on your own a couple times a year, and to "Edit Profile" if personal info has changed - especially your email address as that is the only way that NCCC communicates with you now.

QuoteDear NCCC Member

Because you so graciously donated to NCCC last year, you may have not received the automated expiration notice when your regular dues expired. You are receiving this email because your NCCC membership may have lapsed or is about to lapse. So you generous people who donated may be ready to lose their active membership status - No good deed goes unpunished!

This is no fault of your own [and please don't ask for technical details - it will be repaired for next year]. There is no harm, no foul, and you have not been kicked out of the club. Continue to join in on the rides.

To get back on board, please just login to NCCC Membership and "Add/Renew Subscription" as you have done in the past. You do not have to back pay to cover any lost days. When you renew, this will be your annual renewal date for the future. You can get to the renewal form in several ways - use whichever is easiest for you:

  • Click on this link
  • Hover over the Member navigation button - 2nd from top left, every NCCC webpage - and select "Renew Membership"
  • Click the Member navigation button directly, press the blue Login button on the page, and select the "Add/Renew Subscription" tab.
Note that you can always view your membership status by logging into the NCCC membership database (using one of the 3 methods above) and selecting the "Your Payment History" tab. You will see your membership level, payment history, and any donations you have made. If the latest period for your active membership is past, then you are "expired." (but we still think you're OK)

Sorry for the hassle this year. The Donation addition to our payment system was a customization which had some unexpected side effects, resulting in the failure to get your automated renewal notices out to you.

Ride safely out there,

For the record, the software was able to easily be configured so that, in the future, you will get notices for any expired membership as described above, regardless of whether donations were made. It was just as much a configuration mistake as the donation customization. You will get no notices to make another donation - entirely your choice at your convenience  8)

Thanks Karl for looking into this and getting it resolved... - ~Peg
