Bike the Coast - Sag Stop Assistance Volunteers needed

Volunteers needed to help the Sag stop at Foussat on the San Luis Rey Recreational Trail.  North County Cycle Club helped out last year and hoping you can do this again this year. Saturday, November 1, 2014.  Need to be in place at 8:30 a.m. to receive the SAG materials, food and set up.  Last rider should clear this stop around 11:00 a.m.

I've volunteered at all these rides from the outset. However I'm very disappointed by Jim Curl's greed, the reason I worked the ride was because it supposedly raised money for SDCBC which then would be used to improve our bicycling facilities in North San Diego County. Last year was an eye opener, Curl took 1/2 of the beer garden money, money that the breweries who donated the beer thought was going 100% to the SDCBC. I cannot support a phony 'fundraiser' that in reality enriches an individual at the expense of our coastal city communities. Our cities waive fees and provide traffic control under the impression that this event is a legitimate fundraiser not a profit maker for one guy.

Paul, could you cite your source for this info? It's news to me, so I'd like to learn more. I rode Bike the Coast (50 mi course) for the first time last year, and am signed up for the 25 mile course this year, but if I need to reconsider, it'd be good to have something in print to point to as the reason why.

Thank you to Michelle, Mark, Sergio & Debbie for joining me to assistance at the Bike the Coast SAG stop - first stage at Fussat.  Was a good turnout and a perfect cycling day. You have received your "FREE" entry to the San Diego Century 2015 - May 30th.  Most of us have ridden those roads so will be another good cycling adventure. I have attached a sneak peek for those that are anxious to get  some workouts. Dang them hills though!  No worries, we will be doing several centuries before then
