Comrades!

The first of the new monthly Sunday rides is coming up, so here's some important information regarding this ride that any attending riders will need.

1) 9 AM start time

2) I know that many of us use a GPS for navigation, and this route is not difficult to navigate, but I do recommend that all riders pick up a route slip before we depart, especially if you are not familiar with the route. The route slip will have important info to supplement the RwGPS auto-generated route directions, such as regroups, road name changes, and the break stop.

3) This will not be a hammer fest.

4) I have the start location listed as the Starbucks in the shopping center on the east end of town. https://www.google.com/maps/@32.8337098,-116.7495988,18z?hl=en. I suggest parking in the North West corner of the lot as a courtesy. This is where we will gather 10 minutes before departing. Look for a white Ford Fiesta with route slips clipped under the rear wiper blade.

5) Check the weather. East county mountains are weird, and conditions vary.

6) Please review the posted route map. We will be riding on 2 lane country roads or varying condition. Many have no shoulder. Typically traffic is minimal and polite. There is a section of about 4 miles on the return to Alpine that will use the shoulder of I8. It's all downhill, often with a good tailwind. The shoulder is wide and usually clean.

7) Everyone will have fun.

I must be missing something but, under your number 6 bullet point, where is the route posted?

Oops, suppose I could post a link. The route will be posted with each month's schedule, but they can also be viewed in the club RwGPS page by filtering out the routes using the "Alt Sunday" tag.
