We need a big showing to tell politicians that cyclists need safe roads and to tell them we appreciate the changes made to coast highway in Encinitas.  Please make this a priority on Saturday.  It starts at 11:30 am for a short ride and ends with Lunch and Raffles for Schwag.  Come at the end or middle or beginning of your Saturday ride;

Please join us for the Inauguration and Ribbon Cutting of the Bike Friendly improvements on Coast Highway with a group Joy Ride through town. Come to show your support for what has been done here in order to encourage politicians to support similar projects all over the San Diego area. Participants in this group ride, controlling the full lane, will help to educate both motorists and cyclists about the safe use of the new bicycle infrastructure. Come out for a good time!

Judy - I changed the title of Peg's post to make it more clear that the purpose of that ride is to join up with the Encinitas Joy Ride and sharrows Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony, as decided at the March 7 Board Meeting.

ALL ROADIES: This is a chance for all the groups to come together to celebrate much safer riding on 101 through Encinitas and Leucadia. You know what I mean if you've been out there. If you haven't done it yet, this is a must. If you can't join Peg, and are doing the posted Regular or Long ride, consider breaking off to make it to Encinitas at 11:30.
