Many thanks to everybody for their help yesterday after the crash in carlsbad. I appreciate everyones concern and its great to know we have so much medical expertize in the group. long story short i broke my collar bone in two places so im out for a while but nothing more serious than that. And the bike appears to be fine ! I hope everyone else who was in the crash is doing well. sorry for the short message but now i have to learn to type left handed so this has already taken a while to write :)

That's as good a report as we could hope for, Rob. Rehab well and come back stronger than ever. Keith had some scrapes, broken spoke, trashed handlebars/stem. Nigel had a big thigh contusion but still managed Double Peak on Sunday.

We're all hoping for a fast recovery - Karl

Ouch!  So sorry Rob to hear of your bicycle accident and your two break collar bone injury.  Wishing you a speedy recovery and sending well wishes your way.

~Peg

Sorry about the accident Rob, get well fast.  I look forward to seeing you soon and let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Hi Rob...Take care of yourself and we will miss you on the next few rides.

Tony

Rob, good to hear the damage was held to a minimum. Rest up and enjoy the time off, I'm sure you'll be back strong.
All the best,
Joe

Rob,

Scary stuff but glad you are semi-OK. And nice style on the ambulance ride........sunglasses and gloves in place.

Speedy recovery, we will keep the pavement warm for your return.

Rob,
On our long ride today we were all wondering how you are doing and how the recovery is going.  Let us know!

Hi Ursula

Glad to know you haven't all forgotten me :) Here's the update:

I had surgery the week after the crash to put a plate in to hold all the pieces of collar bone together. They also discovered at that point that I had cracked one of the bones at the elbow! Recovery is going well - just a longer process than I have patience for. Hopefully will be able to get back on the trainer in the next week or so and then the back on the road a few weeks later.
Enjoy the rides and hopefully see you all in a few more weeks.

Rob.

Hello Rob,

Thank you for your recovery updates. Though I understand it is a long process that requires patience, sounds like that you are mending well.  Not forgotten...Sending you well wishes daily and energy.  Sorry to hear of the additional elbow injury. Great to hear you will soon visit the trainer. Take it easy.

All the best,
~Peg

Hey Rob
Hope your recovery is going well . You have a great attitude considering you had nothing to do with crashing. I just have to rack those situations up as part of the level of cycling that we a participating in . This was my second time down in a pace line, never any fun . See you soon Nigel
