Comrades!

As previously mentioned, I will not be riding with the club on Saturday. There are a few things that riders need to know. First is that there will be two routes - 40 and 63 miles. The second key point is that yes, we will be riding out to Oceanside Harbor and do the usual TT. However, riders will then regroup and continue on. The break will not be at the Harbor shops. Please check the route slip for the break location of the route you are riding. Each route has a different break stop. The regular 40 mile route will stop at the Mobil station on Palomar Airport Rd, just before the turn onto Paseo del Norte. The metric century route will continue South and stop at the 7-11 in Encinitas, which is about a half mile South of La Costa on Coast Hwy as you roll into town. For both routes - there will be a few times in which riders need to get into traffic and take the lane. Obviously, the bridge and traffic circle north out of Carlsbad, which both routes will pass through heading both north and then again south. For riders on the regular route, it is always best and safe practice to take the lane on the bridge merging onto Palomar Airport Rd off of Coast Hwy. For the metric century riders - I'm not certain of the state of construction, but you will likely need to get out into traffic and take the lane when leaving Del Mar until you make the left onto Carmel Valley Rd. Then again to make the left onto El Camino. Once you pass under the I5 overpass on Carmel Valley Rd, be ready to move left into the correct lane to make your left turn.

Have fun. I'll be back on the 26th. Thank you again to those helping out with the rides.
