I'm with you Karl, I will ride my bike to work.  I do wonder what's in the bill though, maybe money for bike lanes and bike safety, wouldn't that be nice.  I want to tell the bonehead who was speaking that Americans should be encourged to burn calories rather than petroleum, but he probably would understand what I was trying to say.

This video is ~1 yr old, so the bill is probably old hat. $1 million dollars isn't a whole lot, which makes the ranting even funnier. It's probably just a small piece of some larger legislation. This is more of a cultural thing. My sister lives in Tubingen, Germany where you find bicycles as the main mode of transportation there, made possible not only by attitude but the way the town is planned. I don't think San Diego or any other towns around here have modes of transportation other than the car in city planning.
