2013 RAAM Volunteers Wanted

All - It has become a tradition for NCCC to help get things rolling for each RAAM - Race Across America. This year is no exception as the organizers have asked for volunteers. To add some interest, NCCC member John Hopkins is Crew Chief for team GoAlEd, where his friend and double century riding partner Jeanine Spence will be doing another RAAM. The team start is on Sat. June 15. Solos and women will be starting on Tuesday, June 11. Let's show up in our NCCC colors and support this unique event [Peg has asked for a club photo shoot to start the June 15 ride, so you can participate in the photo and head out to the harbor if you want to watch John and his team get rolling.]

Here is the note we received from Howard LaGrange:

Need volunteers to pace/guide RAAM riders from the start to Mance Buchanan Park (College and San Luis Rey Recreational Trail).  Need to be able to maintain a 15 mph pace.  Need volunteers for Tuesday, June 11th (solos and women) and Saturday, June 15th.  Start time is 12:00PM.

I have a group of Cruiser Long Riders that will be doing the Tuesday, June 11th at 12 p.m.  We can  reschedule the NCCC - Group Photo Shoot another time. - Peg

Be sure to watch Team Goaled as we cross the country trying to break the Mixed 4 person team 60-69. The Solo Riders are on their journey and its looking to be a really great race. Talk about an Xtreme Road Trip . . . can you imagine :-)
