Hello All,

Hope that you had a nice weekend.  Looks like many of you had some nice rides going.  Thanks for sending the stats & text messages.  Regretfully, I was not able to ride :-(.

Waiting for exact location where to meet tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from Pete Penseyres (He is the top RAAM Rider from 1986:

Pete Penseyres was the winner of the bicycle Race Across America, or RAAM, in 1986, setting a world record of 3107 miles (5000 km) at 15.40 miles per hour (24.8 km/h). He finished in 8 days, 9 hours, and 47 minutes. He is the introducer of aerobars to mimic a downhill skier's  speed advantage.

He will not have update for me until sometime this evening.  Will keep you posted.  What I do know is that we will be meeting at 11 a.m. And that the ride escort is about 8 miles.

We will still leave from San Marcos tomorrow, Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 8:00 and do a medium pace ride to the coast.  Do a ride on the coast and then head to the Oceanside Pier area.

Check for updates via the forum on www.northcountycycleclub.com  and I will also send another group update.  Feel free to give me a call if you don’t have access to a computer.

NOTE:  Depending on the time we finish and the temperature â€" there is a possibility that we might be taking the sprinter from Oceanside back to San Marcos.

I apologize that I do not have more concrete information for you, but this is all I have for now.  RAAM is the toughest ride in the “WORLD” so I am sure they are still shuffling stuff around to make sure all goes smoothly.

Best regards,
Peg
