Call for additional CicloSDias Course Marshal Volunteers - Sunday Aug. 11

If you're interested in seeing what CicloSDias is about close-up, consider volunteering as a course marshal. This is a last minute call to beef up the number of marshals to ensure a great event. Below is the text of an email from Mike Samyn at the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition (SDCBC).

Andy Hanshaw, SDCBC Executive Director, called earlier today and asked to send out a message to all our club leaders.  He can use more course marshalling help in both the morning and afternoon shifts of August 11th for CicloSDias.  I plan to volunteer for the afternoon.  This is the first time SDCBC has helped to put on this event and we want it to be a great success so any time at all you guys can put in to volunteer would be greatly appreciated.  Pass this on to your club members if you can.  There is also discount parking described below for those that live too far to comfortably ride in. I intend to ride to the event by parking free in Balboa park after our morning San Diego Wheelmen ride. Please note I have attached the Volunteer Waiver and the Course Map and the contacts at the Hubs to check in at are in Jason’s email below.

Thank you so much for helping us so that we can have a safe and fun event for all.

On August 11, please show up to one of the HUBS to volunteer as a route Marshall.  Please bring your volunteer waiver filled out and signed (a copy is attached to this email).  At your Hub you’ll be given a t-shirt and be positioned along the route.  For your convenience, ACE Parking is offering discounted parking at the following locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  To view a map of the route click here.

·         Padre Parkade:440 11th Ave

A few final reminders:

·         Please check in with your Hub Leader (below) upon arrival

·         Please bring water, a hat and sunscreen and be prepared for a warm summer day

·         Port-a-potties will be located at each of the four Hubs on the route
