Very poor manners, indeed!

To the cycle group that almost ran me off the road this morning (Wednesday, September 24th):  Shame on you.  I was cycling the Las Pulgas to San Clemente bike route and was passed by a group of about 40 riders near the San Onofre area.  As the cyclists passed me, they cut back in front of me at such a close distance that I had to move over till I literally ran out of room.  I had to ride within an inch of the chain link fence in order to avoid being hit.  If it wasn't for my bike skills, I would have crashed and hit the fence at 18 mph.

Behavior like this does alot to harm our sport and puts us all in danger of resultant road rage.  Quite frankly, it is rude, dangerous and contrary to the  image we want to have as cyclists.

Swamis rides at that time but I don't think on Wednesdays. I think Ranchos? does the Wednesday hammerfest out of Carlsbad right about then. Most likely was the group that rides from of the Grand Deli in Calsbad, Chris Horner rides with them sometimes.

Hello Barbara,

So sorry to hear about your almost incident.  Probably the same guys that almost ran both the Cruisers Regular Riders and the Cruiser Long Riders off the San Luis Rey Bicycle Path...

Ride safe and great to hear you are healed up and riding,
~Peg
