Montezuma by Moonlight

Next week is the full moon and I am planning on doing Montezuma grade loop at night.  April and October are usually the best months due to moderate desert temperatures. Plan is to start Saturday evening from Christmas circle at 6pm heading up Montezuma down through Ranchita turning left on S2 and continue down to Scissors Crossing, making another left to Yaqui Pass and back to Borrego. About 50 miles and 4k of climbing.
I have done this many times and it is hard to describe the desert beauty illuminated with the moon. Weather will cancel meaning extreme temps as will excess wind.  I will also drop a water cache at the top of the grade.

Another upcoming ride will be from the Laguna store to Julian, have some pie and down Banner making a right on S2 (Stagecoach Route) finishing in Ocotillo. About 80 miles. Try to be at the S2 turn at dark. Also will be on another full moon. This ride has its logistical challenges and will take some planning. More to come. I have ridden this 3-4 times and again something different.
Post questions or intentions for either ride

That sounds really cool, Eric. I leave town on April 1, however. What day are you thinking of for Montezuma?
Karl

Sorry would be April 4th this time. Will happen again in October.
